Draft 4

Draft 4
My project is based off of Uta Barth's photos. I did this by fully zooming in and going fully out of focus. By doing this, I was able to create simple shapes with simple colors. I wanted to mix colors and geometric shapes in a way to create a neat abstract image. I added the PicMonkey Film Grain filter to each of my photos in order to make my photos more simplistic. My themes are very simplistic and calming, and they make the viewer really think about the photo and try to interpret what the subject of the photo is. After my first day of taking photos, I learned that street lights are very good subjects for my photos, as they emit an unusual and prominent color. My photos changed since my Draft 3 photos by having the impact of the grain filter on my photos be less. I tried to create shapes in my photos so that the focus is not too drawn out into the corner by some bright light. I basically tried to create an even balance in all of my photos.

  1. I thought you did a great job this week. I love the coloring each photo, I think the only thing you should work on it creating more of a shape in these photos. other than that I thought you did a great job.

  2. I think your strongest photos are the ones where there is a specific object with vivid color, like the cone, that the image is centered on. It is a lot more interesting to work on then a mish-mash palooza of random colores.

  3. I like how these were blurred yet you could still see a shape behind the blurriness. I also like how you could still see color in the images. You did a really good job and I think this is one of your best posts yet!

  4. I hold true to all of my previous comments, take photos at night of lights! You definitely show the capability of capturing bright things in dark places (like the 3rd photo of the cone), so you should do this with actual lights too (like traffic lights or car lights). You can check out a camera if you ask Mr. Whiton. Adding nighttime images to your repertoire would make the entirety of your series more dynamic.

  5. These are great. I love how it takes a lot of effort to see what the image is, yet the bright colors in some of them make it easy. Keep up the nice work.

  7. I don't understand your project, but guess it's cool. I really the pop of color in each blur, it doesn't help tell what we're looking at, but it brings a lot to the photo. keep going.

  8. I really like the colors used in your images. I think the more abstract images are stronger than the images like the cone which is just a single object. great work

  9. I like how some of the photos have very bright colors, like the red and green. It makes the photos more contrasting
