Multi-Frame Storytelling

Multi-Frame Storytelling
I approached this project through trying to have some sort of fake body figure like a mannequin be the subject of the piece. I also tried to have the other image that does not have a mannequin be a reflection of whatever the mannequin's feelings may be. This entire collection is sort of a story because it shows how the mannequin feels at different times in different places. I also made all of my images black and white in order to tie the entire collection together.

  1. I really enjoy how you have a cohesive story in each image and how you have a very clear perspective to what you are trying to capture.

  2. I really liked your third image. I think the new image that is created and the background created is really strong and flows nicely. I think the black and white also makes everything very cohesive. Great Work

  4. Really cool work this week! Each of your subjects seem to be facing off against the other subject in the collage and everything really builds off of each other. I don't understand the story in your first photo because I feel like the lights and darks are too complex and distracting, particularly with the glare off the windows. A simpler photo paired with the more complex glare of the windows might have suited your first collage better.

  5. I really liked how you decided to make all your images flow into a story. All the images are so simple yet seem to have a complex meaning behind them and I think this is some great work that you have done.

  6. These are really good. All your photos really flow well together. Each photo really creates a feeling which is great in a photo. The different lighting is also really amazing. Nice job!

  7. Pretty cool. Not bad at all. I think you could have played around with colors and lighting more, but that's just my opinion. Good job.

  8. I like your use of layering in the last photo, it almost seemed like one photo. I enjoy all the abstract photos within your pieces. I think your strongest photos were the ones of a darker background frame. I also like the photos in which you had a thicker border which helps brighten the main center point. Great Work!

  9. I like how each of the images mix, particularly the 3rd one, that mixed both images really well

Draft 5

Draft 5 My project is based on of Uta Barth's photos. I did this by fully zooming in and going fully out of focus. By doing this, I was able to create simple shapes with simple colors. I wanted to mix colors and geometric shapes in a way to create a neat abstract image. I added the PicMonkey Film Grain filter to each of my photos in order to make my photos more simplistic. My themes are very simplistic and calming, and they make the viewer really think about the photo and try to interpret what the subject of the photo is. After my first day of taking photos, I learned that street lights are very good subjects for my photos, as they emit an unusual and prominent color. My photos changed since my Draft 4 photos by trying to have more simple shapes that have conflicting colors. I continued to try to create shapes in my photos so that the focus is not too drawn out into the corner by some bright light. I also read Casey's comments which suggested me to take these photos at night t...

My photos changed since my Draft 3 photos by having the impact of the grain filter on my photos be less. Composition 1- Triangle, Diagonal, and Rule of Thirds

Triangle Taking triangular photos requires taking pictures of landscapes or objects in which three distinct subjects, acting as the corners, form a triangular shape. I attempted to take triangular photos by finding objects that formed a triangular shape, or simply finding triangles in architecture. Diagonal A diagonal photo is a photo where there is essentially a line made by a subject, which goes diagonally through the photo, typically from one end to the other. I illustrated diagonal lines through hand railings, power lines, and the line separating an apartment building to the sky, shown in the last picture. Rule of Thirds A Rule of Thirds photo is one where there is one distinct subject on one side of the photo, horizontally or vertically, and when the photo grid cuts up the sections into thirds, the distinct subject should be exclusively in one of the columns or rows of the photo that is not in the middle. I illustrated the Rule of Thirds hor...
